Of that key package, only 17 were verified to have acquired by WNBC-TV in New York for their 1965-68 late-night weekend Festival of Thrillers; the rest were scattered among WNEW-TV, WCBS-TV and WOR-TV. The titles from this charter "Shock!" package that have been confirmed to be shown on WNBC were:

The Black Cat
Dracula
Dracula's Daughter
Frankenstein
Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man
The Invisible Man
The Invisible Man Returns
The Invisible Ray
The Mummy
The Mummy's Hand
Nightmare
Night Monster
Son of Dracula
Son of Frankenstein
The Strange Case of Doctor Rx
Werewolf of London
The Wolf Man

A few other 1930's and 1940's films not in this charter package also found their way to this WNBC series, such as:

Before I Hang
Behind the Mask
Black Friday
The Black Room
Bride of Frankenstein
The Face Behind the Mask
The Ghost of Frankenstein
House of Dracula
House of Frankenstein
The Invisible Man's Revenge
The Man They Could Not Hang
The Man Who Lived Twice
The Man with Nine Lives

Was there a revision of this package in the '60's from Screen Gems?

There was a "Son of Shock" package that followed.

I heard that there was a book to go along with the promo of SHOCK! Have you heard that?
Many of these movies are so hard to find. Do you have any suggested sites on where to find them?

There was a SHOCK! catalog released for the promotion of the film package.

As for film availability, many of the films are now available on DVD. I should do an update on that. The best place to get the ones that aren't would be eBay. These would be DVD-Rs, of course.

There was a curious still offered in the promotional materials for SHOCK! that offered the full standing figure of Kharis from THE MUMMY'S HAND, carrying the fainted heroine, but with the Mummy's head replaced with Karloff's head as the Frankenstein Monster. This image was utilized by WNBC-TV for "Festival of Thrillers" as their regular telop, which was presented whenever commercial interruptions came along, and whenever the commercials ended and we'd return to the movie. Any info on this makeshift still, or better yet, can you print it?

yrkconnors@gmail.com is the place to find all your Universal needs, all titles a very reasonable 6 bucks each (serials higher). Thanks to Bob Connors, I've acquired every title in the SHOCK! package.
